State Solo & Ensemble - Miami April 2-3

46 CBHS Band students have been invited to the state Solo & Ensemble Festival in Miami. This is due to their outstanding performance assessments at the FBA Solo and Ensemble Competition last February at Satellite High School. These groups include the Brass ensemble and Clarinet ensemble as well as the qualified soloist and smaller ensembles. This event is high school only.

Cocoa Beach was represented very well by all grades at the competition. This event included Cocoa Beach band students in the 6th -12 grades performing solos, duets, trios, quartets, woodwind quintets and even a clarinet choir's for high school and Junior high and the color guard. 86 students received "Superior" ratings (the highest rating possible). 95 students received an "Excellent" rating. This is an outstanding accomplishment for these young students. Congratulations to all! A special "thank you" to Mrs. Laufenberg for her piano accompaniment for many of our students.

We will leave for Miami on Monday April 2 after school and return Tuesday April 3 by dinner time. Our performances are from 8 am -12 pm Tuesday morning in Miami.
